The Festival

„Spettacolo“ is the only street performance festival of its kind in central Switzerland. Mid-August the lakeside of Brunnen is transformed into a lively, open-air street performance stage where over 50 international artists entertain over 20’000 visitors. This atmospheric festival with its special children’s program and culinary highlights has 9 open-air stages and circus tents at its disposal along the lakeside promenade of Brunnen with its breathtaking scenery as a backdrop. Above all – it is free of charge!

This festival is organized biannually.

No Applications for 2024

In recent years, we have received over 400 applications. This means a lot of work for the artists who apply and also pushes our volunteer organization to its limits. That is why we are testing a new system for the 2024 edition: this time there will be no public application. Instead, we’ll be approaching exceptional groups directly.

Generally, we are looking for

We are intererested in artists from the following categories:
music
visual shows (artistry, comedy, fire, theatre, dance, water, …)
walking acts
artistic installations

Selective criteria:
originality: surprising, innovative, original, unique
quality: high quality street art
professionalism

We are NOT looking for

no average shows
no disrespectful or discriminating shows
no food waste
no living statues
no „schlager“ or metal bands
no market stalls
